I do not spank. It is a temporary fix it. As well as depending upon the age can cause more of a scare tactic into submission. I feel it is barbaric to do this to any child.
I know many people that “believed” in spanking the child. It caused later emotional problems. They were scared of the parents and were not close to them as an adult. Most of them felt as if they could not go to the mom and dad because they would get mad. Some turned to drugs
Parents that don’t spank the children know they are loved unconditionally and have a better grasp on how to handle anger in the long run. As well as know they can talk to mom and dad and be more open with them. They came from a level headed home.
I personally do not like this method of discipline and never will.

I have spanked my childen, in the proper manor, and now I don’t spank them anymore. My youndest is seven so he is outgrowing that but my oldest, I would say I stopped spanking when he was 5. I think spanking can and should be used as punishment but done in the right way with the right attitude.
