I am starting to see a psychiatrist next week and I was wondering..?

Question by UndomesticGoddess: I am starting to see a psychiatrist next week and I was wondering..?
If there are any specific questions I should ask him? Any information I should have with me for my first session? I am clinically depressed and I have a general anxiety disorder. He wants to put me some kind of “graduating program” (if my understanding is correct) of 10 sessions.
I am on meds…I’m on Effexor Xr and clomazapam

Don’t worry about asking him questions. Since it is his profession he should be asking you the questions. I’ve had 6 physch drs. and they all tell you the same thing at your first session, ” we can’t tell anyone what you say unless your endangering yourself, others, or plan to kill yourself.” don’t worry about questions though, unless your going to ask him something like, ” i’m ready to get better, how can you help me?”

I’m sure you don’t have to worry too much, to my understanding they ask most of the questions.
