Do you think this is generalized anxiety disorder? teen?

Question by Debbie: Do you think this is generalized anxiety disorder? teen?
Hi, I am 15 years old and have recentley parted from my mum who has been as long as i have been born and still is an alcholic. I have been under the category “emotional abuse” by social services when i was about 12. I havnt been at school for 3 years because of Chronic fatigue. I dont blame my mum for anything but she has blamed me but yeah.. My mum would apear drunk at school, yadada. Ruined birthday, ruined christmas, so on and forth. Doesn’t matter to me because it was awful anyway.

Anyway, I feel like because of past traumas, my anxiety levels have never been low and now its become a very bad problem. It interferes with my relationships with friends and family. I can’t relax, i get constant tummy aches and my muscles get so tense for no reason that everytime i walk they feel extremely strained. I get drained by social situations (i dont think its a social phobia because i get on with all ages well always have.) I am very tearful, but i just see it as a normal “release”. I can’t think properly. I get panic attacks at school recentley. Where i burst out in tears when my heart is pounding fast and i start sweating, I feel a lot of adrenaline and after panic attacks i feel another one coming on. I think my body is overeacting because thats what its used to doing around my mum as i would g et this anxious around her. Its becoming a serious problem though because i cant go to lessons, get on with people. ( i seem offish- rude – im not but I am so caught up in my emotional state..)

Anyway, do you think this is it?
I am getting counselling, but its going to be in a couple of weeks.
so before then, i dont know how to keep my anxiety down.

Thanks for the answers, much appreciated .

It is anxiety and perhaps some other mental illness as well. Like depression.

Better get a professional help from a psychiatrist

It is serious. Get well soon and don;t delay any sort of treatment.

Generalized anxiety disorder is a mental disorder in which a person worrys about a certain situation excessively. For example if you have a huge presentation for work coming up in 2 weeks, a normal person would be nervous maybe a day or a couple of hours before the presentation but a person with generalized anxiety disorder will worry and have anxiety attacks for 2 weeks. I don’t think you have generalized anxiety disorder. You suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. To control your anxiety try breathing deep and slowly when having an anxiety attack. Don’t drink coffee or do any drugs this makes all types of anxiety worst.
