Do celebrities take drugs to be relaxed while performing?
Question by euphoric(k): Do celebrities take drugs to be relaxed while performing?
Well I always just figured they were good at performing and use to it, but then I was reading this thing about how many people who perform use beta blockers like inderal or peroponolol.. or something like that, which rids themselves of nervousness and helps them to remain calm so they can perform well.
But.. I don’t know, how factual the article thing was, is that true though?
Or do you think that they are just really good at performing

I don’t know how widespread the use of a beta blocker for situational anxiety and stage fright would be but I know that it has been used for that reason (especially for public speakers). I am someone who uses a beta blocker because of a aorta problem and it helps with my blood pressure and heart rate. I was told by my cardiologist that it is sometimes used for stage fright.
I have been using a beta blocker for years now (a daily dosage twice a day) so my body is used to it but I can tell you the first week or two I took it it made me a little sleepy and like I had just a beer and felt really relaxed… not loopy but a aware relaxed. I imagine that if people take it for stage fright it is only taken for a event as I think the effect would be so subtle. I have always wondered if such a drug would benefit a baseball pitcher or a ice hockey goalie though.
