for as long as i can remember i always had sex with boys my age and i can remember back till i was about 7-8 years although i have no memory of ever being abused i showed all the signs of abuse depressed, drug taking teen pregnancy etc i know for a fact that this was bought to my mothers attention when i was 10 and she did or said nothing, now another child in there care has made a complaint that she has been abused i am supporting her but am now wondering if there could be more to my behavior as a child and does any1 have any suggestions of how i could maybe find out.

Talk to your doctor he can give you a direction to go in, don’t be ashamed that’s his job do it for yourself and the other child before it’s to late.

It’s quite simple really …. IF you don’t remember or have any recollection of it, then you weren’t abused.

So many people want to make up this kind of experience as part of their past history (i have no idea why) but it isn’t really something that a person should want, and it is certainly not an issue that a person would forget. Trust me, IF you were abused as a child on any level (physical, sexual, emotional) you would know it. Those are things that are never forgotten.

As it is, support the child you are referring to; but don’t play into adding details or reading into what’s not there. Some children aren’t really “abused” but “disciplined.” Yet the child says “Mommy/Daddy “hit me” and they are referring to a spanking, not an all out beating. A whack on the bottom for misbehaviour is NOT abuse, it is discipline. Punching a child anywhere, is abuse. So there are differences, sometimes major, as well as indicators to look for, i suppose.
