Question by Nick: The maire of my town said…?
So I was reading the newspaper and the maire of my town said and I quote: “Pedophily, Drug addiction and Homosexuality are diseases and should therefore be treated”. It was like in the first page!!!

My mom is a friend of him (kinda). She has worked with him before. So I talked to her and I said: – Have you read the paper? Did you see what he said?

And she was like: -oh that, yeah. I was there when he said it. After he said it out loud he said much worse things to me.

-I was like WTF and you didn´t do anything???

I told my parent about it at dinner and he was like, the maire was right. And I asked him “are you serious?” and he said “yeah somehow, I´m not sure. But being gay is not right for sure and I don’t support same-sex marriage”

I am closeted gay and even though this is not really a question, how would you feel about coming out in a situation like this? It seems even more difficult than yesterday.

PS – I just wanna punch that maire in the face.( I´m against violence though, but if I ever get to see him, he´s gonna listen to me cause I´ve got a lot to say lol)

PS – This is a kinda big town – 40.000 inhabitants… grrrr damn ignorants

What did your parent mean by “I’m not sure…but being gay is not right for sure”?

Did he mean he really doesn’t know? Or that he is sure it is not right to be gay?

It does not sound like your parents are super-homophobic, but they surely need some growth in understanding.

It’s a toss up as to whether you coming out would make them re-think the issue, or whether they would think you were somehow not right.

But your mayor is a blockhead.
