I got a job as a security guard for a private security company in NJ….they told me that i have to come back tomorrow to take a drug test in the office…..Is it even legal for them to make me take a drug test in the office and not in a lab…..also can my employer come in and watch me give the specimen????Serious answers only please. Thanks

In general if it is part of the requirement for employment it is legal your only issue may be the right to some what privacy in taking the drug test but that will be balanced by the fact of the right of the company to ensure a proper test is administered

i believe they can send a tech from the lab to collect the specimen. DO NOT let it out of your line of sight until it’s sealed and you put your initials on the container(s).
