I’m writing a book and i need a place that is high on crime and drug use. Only problem is i live in Maryland and we dont really have much of that here so i wouldn’t know where to say. Should i just pick a random place in the US or like … Make up my own city or something.?

Make up a place then you can make up details and more interesting history for the place without pissing off people that actually live there.
