Why do mothers love their children so unconditionally, even at birth when all the child is doing is crying her lungs out. Isn’t love about connecting and loving who that person is, but if you’ve just met this little creature how can you love it so much? If they love their child because “its a part of them” or “a part that symbolizes our love”, then isn’t that just loving yourself and that person that you created the child with? I mean what drives a mother to love her children so much, while she barely knows them.
And why do some mothers hate their children? What’s the difference between these mothers? Do they like not have that special love gene in them? What makes these mothers different from the mothers who loves their child without question, and why do these mothers love/hate them while they barely even know them?
Please no stupid answers.
Yes, they love it because its a part of them with the blood that flows through their veins, but how is that so different from loving yourself? Whats the difference between this love and staring in a mirror all day pampering yourself? They say the first moment you connect with your child you fall in love with her, but how can you fall in love without truely knowing your child and who she will grow up to be?

I don’t think it’s all about the 9 months in the womb even if a lot of mothers think so. I grew up knowing kids who were adopted and they were very bonded with their mothers too. It’s the day to to day care you get with mothers. They’re usually very sensitive to a child’s needs. Fathers love their kids too but most of the time mothers are more intuitive and understand their children better than fathers. Not always but most of the time.
